BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), which is based in Beijing, on Friday released the world's first atlas of remote-sensing thermal infrared images, providing valuable data support for sustainable development research.
The Fourth International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS 2024) concluded on September 8 in Beijing, marking a significant leap in global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On September 2, 2024, a workshop themed "Capacity Building on Utilizing Big Earth Data for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)" opened in Beijing. The 8-day event aims to enhance the SIDS’ability to monitor and assess SDGs progress using Big Earth Data, thereby strengthening informed decision-making.
In July 2024, International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) welcomed a new member - Professor Gretchen Kalonji. CBAS held a welcome ceremony to warmly welcome her as the official special advisor of CBAS.
