Biography
Professor Abbas Rajabifard is an internationally recognized scholar and geospatial engineer and is an active leader in land administration system modernization, sustainability and resilience. He is an advocate, international expert voice for the use of land and geospatial information in wider society, in academia and industry worldwide, applying geospatial science to solving society’s major social, economic, and environmental challenges. Prof. Rajabifard is an Associate Dean Sustainability at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, The University of Melbourne, and is Director of a world class research and development Centre for SDIs and Land Administration (CSDILA), at the University of Melbourne.
Prof. Rajabifard is a Board Member of the United Nations Academic Network for Global Geospatial Information Management to assist sustainability. He is also a member of UN International Advisory Committee for UN Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre. Over the last 2 decades, Prof. Rajabifard has worked on strategic projects in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, and Latin America regions, where he has developed the strategy, design, and implementation of policies and technologies. He is an influential expert and is a key part of the global movement working towards the development of strategies that build digital economic growth, improve infrastructure and community resilience, and address social needs while tackling climate change and environmental sustainability. He is passionate about making the World a better place.
